May not work for another person. That’s the thing about nutrition, health and lifestyle. We know the foundational principles, science and overall goals of feeling well and staying healthy. But for each person trying to get to their optimal health and performance, the journey, approach and behaviors may be different.
There are many things to consider in how you want to approach your nutrition, fitness, mindfulness and overall health. Do you want to be vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, Paleo, BulletProof, etc? Do you want permanent change, a quick fix, or are you working on truly understanding your body and what makes if feel great? Do you like a cold turkey approach or gradual changes?
Is it all too confusing? It definitely can be! I love working with people to break down their current patterns and behaviors to a foundational level, then bring them in tune with their body and mind connection to help them recognize how they are truly feeling from the inside out. Then we take simple, yet scientific, steps to build their behaviors, patterns and choices in a manner that challenges, supports and helps them grow into a sustainable lifestyle that supports their goals, with a deep understanding of what works for them. These basic guidelines are a start, the foundation and then needs to be personalized for each person’s needs based on goals, medical conditions, age, symptoms, athletic requirements and other special concerns….
1) Hydration comes first.
2) Work towards eating Whole foods and less processed food items.
3) Planning is the bridge between knowing and doing.
4) Plan your main meals around your vegetables – include lots of color.
5) Your fueling plan should help you feel and perform great, keep you healthy and not weigh you down or make you sick!
