It seems like it’s so easy to be swept up in the momentum of life, even when the happenings are positive and exciting. Striving for balance and connectivity with your body, mind, soul and health can be a challenge, but I was reminded yesterday how important it really is.
California Coast
After a stretch of really long days and minimal down time, I decided that an invitation to join new friends for a hike and a day outside came at the perfect time. I packed a day bag with plenty of water and snacks for me and my pup, and off went went. As I drove up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway, snuggled between the mountains and ocean, already I felt my body relax and my mind begin to ease. I was excited to have a day outside in nature, knowing it was good for me to challenge myself to let go and have a day to relax, enjoy and recharge.
As the day unfolded, wonderful and thoughtful conversations were had, the sun came out and my smile became bigger. I was surrounded by so many nourishing things, from incredible people, to our cute dogs, healthy snacks, and my happiest of places to be – the mountains and the ocean.
In just one day, I felt centered, more at peace, and was reminded how it important it is to carve out time for balance on all fronts of life. If you don’t already, take time each day or each week and ask yourself what could use more attention in your life, to help you be and feel the best and healthiest version of you?
